Workshop 01 – Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies, conducted as part of the ICACT 2026 Workshops and Training Series, was successfully completed on 12 July 2026 at NSBM Faculty of Computing.
The workshop provided valuable insights to academics, postgraduate researchers, and undergraduate researchers through the expert contributions of Dr. R. D. Gunaratne, Chair of the IDTDS Committee, SLAAS; Prof. Saroj Jayasinghe, University of Colombo (Retd.); and Prof. Prasad Jayaweera, Dean, Faculty of Computing, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) and the Committee on Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies (IDTDS) for organizing this valuable academic workshop in collaboration with the Faculty of Computing.
The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Yasanthika Mathotaarachchi, Lecturer and Secretary of the ICACT 2026 Conference, under the guidance of Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, ICACT 2026 Conference Chair and Dean, Faculty of Computing, and Mr. Naji Sarvanapavan, ICACT 2026 Co-Conference Chair and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Computing.

The second workshop of the ICACT 2026 Workshops and Training Series, titled “From Undergraduate Research to Publication: Writing and Publishing a Quality Research Paper”, was successfully conducted by Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera, Dean, Faculty of Computing, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The workshop provided participants with valuable practical insights into academic writing, developing high-quality research papers, navigating the research publication process, and preparing manuscripts for successful journal publication. The session supported academics, postgraduate researchers, and undergraduate researchers in enhancing their research writing skills and gaining a deeper understanding of effective research communication and dissemination.
The Faculty of Computing extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera for sharing his expertise, experience, and valuable insights with the participants, contributing significantly to the success of this academic initiative.
